$1.2m in music grants from Australia Council
AMC-represented artists Katy Abbott, Stephen Adams, Brigid Burke, Romano Crivici, Tim Dargaville, Ross Edwards, Melody Eötvös, Elena Kats-Chernin, Ron Nagorcka, Mike Nock, Alex Pozniak, Damien Ricketson, John Spence, Paul Stanhope and Jane Stanley have emerged as successful applicants from the most recent Australia Council for the Arts funding round in the 'new work' category. There were 216 applications for funding for new works and recording projects, with the success rate of 24% (51 applications). Grant funding was also confirmed for festivals, tours and concerts involving Australian works under the 'presentation and promotion' category, with Andrea Keller, David Chesworth & Sonia Leber among the 24 successful applicants (more details). 10 artists or groups received funding through the 'International pathways' program (more details).
The total funding approved in the three categories amounts to over $1,200,000. Peer assessors involved in the decision-making included Johannes Luebbers, Gabriella Smart, Marshall McGuire, Vanessa Tomlinson, Joanne Kee, Deborah Conway and Holly Throsby.
