Mentorship opportunities for female screen composers
APRA AMCOS has announced two new mentoring opportunities for women composing music for film and television.
APRA is inviting their screen composer members who identify as female to apply. The film composition mentorship is organised in partnership with the Australian Guild of Screen Composers AGSC, while the TV mentorship gives the successful applicant the chance to work with the award-winning TV composer Jay Stewart and his team. Both mentorships are offered for a three-month period and mentees will receive some financial support over that time. Applications close on Friday 2 February 2018.
The new mentorship positions complement APRA's other programs such as the Emerging Jazz Composer Mentorships administered by SIMA and the National Women Composers Development program administered by Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
