Marshall McGuire has been appointed Chair of the AMC's Board of Directors. Marshall follows Genevieve Lacey who stepped down as Chair at the meeting of the AMC Board on 29 July.
Marshall is currently Co-Artistic Director of Ludovico's Band and Director of Programming at Melbourne Recital Centre. An internationally renowned harpist and a member of the ELISION ensemble, he has commissioned and premiered hundreds of new works for harp and championed Australian music in many capacities, including as founding President of the New Music Network, a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra Artistic Advisory Committee, a director of the Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers House, and head of artistic planning with WASO (2006-2011).
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Genevieve Lacey for her dedicated, tireless work for the Australian Music Centre during her term as the Chair.
