Nominations open for the Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2011 Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards. These awards were created in 1984 to commemorate the life and cultural interests of Sidney Myer, and are primarily intended to enhance the status of the performing arts and artists in Australia
The awards recognise past achievement, and consideration is also given to the potential of an individual or group to continue their contribution to Australian society through the performing arts.
Nominations are sought for three awards: Individual Award ($50,000), Group Award ($80,000) and Facilitator's Prize ($20,000). Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Sidney Myer Foundation website.
Nominations close on Friday 18 November 2011. Winners will be announced in early 2012.
