Prelude composer residencies 2019 - applications close 16 July
Applications for four Prelude composer residencies in 2019 are now open, closing at midnight on Monday 16 July 2018.
Prelude is open to Australian composers in all musical genres and practices, including world music, jazz, new classical/art music, pop, film and rock. Residencies can be for research and development or for the creation of new work. Prelude is a national program and each residency is open to composers from around the country. Note that applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, and must be members of APRA AMCOS.
There are now four residencies available as part of this program: twelve months at Gallop House (Dalkeith WA), Golden Vale (Sutton Forest NSW), Peggy Glanville-Hicks House (Paddington, Sydney NSW), and nine months at Beaumont Cottage (Beaumont, SA). Applicants may propose shorter periods, but three months is the minimum residency.
The stipend for the 2018 residencies is $20,000 for twelve months, scaled proportionally for shorter residencies.
Applicants will be notified in September 2018.
