Work Overview

The title Interpolationen (interpolations) refers to the sense by which the work is constructed, each bar a variation on the preceding bar, focusing on generation of depth rather than breadth for its duration. Topographic characteristics of Western Art Music concerned with contrapuntal counter-referencing and various modes of harmonic convention are thus eschewed thereby inducing the necessity for sounds to become their own reference points for navigation in a quest for uncensored lyricism, a genuine autonomy. Due to the focus on depth there is concentration on the moment which fuses pulse, rhythm and beat into a "singularity", the resulting expression resulting in aspects of the same moment heard in increasing structural differentiation.
