Score
Trombone Concerto : for tenor trombone and orchestra / Angus Davison.
Library shelf no. 784.2893186/DAV 1 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
Trombone Concerto was composed for David Robins and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra as part of the 2022-23 Australian Composers School. The centrepiece of the concerto is a lyrical eight-minute middle movement. This is bookended by fast movements of three and four minutes, the first dark and quirky, the second vigorous and optimistic. A short cadenza opens the third movement, during which the performer is free to extemporise on the written part.
